Small, Medium, Large

What size are you?

Your answer should be something like “Well, I’m a small at this store, a medium here, and an extra small at this boutique.” There have been many studies to show that sizes are different depending on the store. I can’t tell you why, but it does make things harder.

nadia_clothing_tagSmaller women have to deal with XS vs S (and yes, it bothers them to have to get an XS). Then there are women who have to go up to a 20 in formal wear when they are naturally a 14. It’s not fair for any of us (including the guys). But it can teach us something … don’t be a number or letter.

When you go shopping keep one rule in mind. Grab what you THINK you are, and grab a size up and down from that to try on. Ignore the size you buy, focus on what makes you feel and look awesome. When you have to go up a size, remember that pair of jeans you bought that was a size smaller just a few months ago. It all comes out in the wash.

Your natural beauty comes out when you feel great. Focus on the feeling, not some stupid tag.

  1. Nice point. Studies these days are also saying that they are actually making clothes larger, but putting smaller sizes on them. As you stated, “Wear what makes you feel and look awesome”!! :)

  2. This was a really great reminder to read this morning as I came across it. My metabolism is starting to slow down and its kind of freaking me out.

Its just an arbitrary number or letter that some dude (most likely a dude) put on a pair of jeans to give some dimension of difference from one pair to the next and it does not matter.

  3. Yeah, exactly. Size and age are just numbers. It’s about how you feel about yourself that matters. :)
